Well, we've landed on another desolate rock far away from home, and judging by the chill coming through my suit I'd say even further from a decent-glowing star. Nov 20th 2010 - In the Alien Swarm universe, most players cringe when they see the words "Survival Map". In fact, I hear more complaints than I do compliments about them from my teammates when hosting these games because many people regard Survival maps as generally unpleasant. When we do play them, we often give up before seeing the battle through to the finish. Still, there are those bold few who are eager to please their palette for punishment, and are always on the prowl for a good standoff with the odds stacked against them.

When making the case for Survival maps, it is essential to point out that "Survival" is merely an objective-type among the handful available in the SDK, and that every map you've played thus far contains several different objective-types. Nov 16th 2010 - When trying to decide which map to review first, the toughest choice was whether to cover a recent release or one of the older campaigns. Ground Zero was released back in August, and although there have been several campaigns released since then that perhaps dwarf this campaign in both visual elegance and overall gameplay, I believe it should have been given a nod from the supreme overseers of the Swarm Armory. Therefore, here is the review that it so justly deserved:

Comfortably sitting among a handful of outdoor-themed maps is this ample gem. By ample, I mean that both maps in this campaign are enormous; although somewhat lacking in detail. Nov 10th 2010 - I was recently informed that some downloads have been broken for awhile. I did some testing and applied a patch that should fix any lingering problems. If you still run into problems downloading maps please report it on the forums or send me a PM.

We have also had kind of a dry spell on reviews since one of our reviewers has disappeared! I am looking for a replacement and if anyone has someone to suggest or would like to apply feel free to send me a PM on the forums.

I will also be updating the custom server over the next few days by adding some of the newer popular maps.
